My Funny Valentine

Can you believe Emma's another month older? Ten months have come and gone, and she's now been in the outside world for longer than I carried her in the womb. It's hard to believe that in just two months we'll be celebrating her first birthday.

This month we've seen her learning new motor skills like clapping and standing on her own for brief periods of time. Additionally, she'll cruise around the couch and such, but she has no interest in walking. Whenever we try to walk her around, she just tries to sit. And to be honest, I'm perfectly okay with that because I have the feeling that walking just isn't going to be her speed - more like running.

Even though she's growing like a weed, one thing we haven't grown out of is her reflux problems. We've had a rough couple of weeks with her up and crying in the middle of the night. Of course, she can't tell you why she's crying, so it's like a guessing game trying to figure out what the problem is. Is it your teeth? No. Is it gas? No. Is your nose stopped up? No. Then, you must have outgrown your medicine dosage, and it's time to get it raised. Within two days of changing her meds, she was sleeping through the night again. Of course, then a few days later, the next tooth started to peek through. Sigh.

I have to say though, even though she oftentimes has plenty of reasons to be fussy, she's a pretty happy-go-lucky kiddo. She's developing quite a sense of humor, and a lot of times she'll be playing and just laughing to herself. So, this month we thought we post some videos of our silly little girl, so you could see her in action doing the things she loves best!

Video #1: Emma playing peekaboo with Kevin
Emma is a peekaboo addict! Seriously, we must play this game in a different variations a hundred times a day. She laughs the biggest and best though while playing with her daddy.

Video #2: Emma playing with the "baby" in the mirror at the farm.
Emma LOVES playing with herself in the mirror. We stop by the one in our bedroom every day to say hi and talk to the baby in the mirror. So, this big mirror at the farm is an extra special treat. She's so enthralled at times she doesn't even notice she's standing on her own.

Video #3: Emma's selfie video
Emma loves watching videos of herself on our phones or on the computer, so we switched the camera view on my iPhone so she could play with herself on the screen. We just happened to record it for fun. (I'm also a little worried at this point that she just may be a little bit vain...lol).
